About Us

This year's Organizing Committee is proud to continue a long tradition of celebrating student work in Education. The first Graduate Symposium hosted by the students of the Department of Education, was organized by in the mid 1980s by Laura Weiner, then a Ph.D.(Educational Technology) student.

In 1992, a core group of graduate students rejuvenated the Education Department’s Student Symposium. A Student Representative for Educational Technology, Genévieve Legare, decided to ensure that the Student Symposium became a part of the Department of Education’s tradition.
The Symposium has evolved and today welcomes graduate student participation from all of Concordia’s Education Department programs (Adult Education, Applied Linguistics, Child Studies, Educational Studies, Educational Technology), as well as student guests from other disciplines and universities.
The event features two keynote speakers, alumni panels, and a variety of presentation types, including virtual presentations.
